These Terms of Service govern your use of MAW, a product of Turner Technologies LLC. They are an agreement between you and Turner Technologies LLC, a Florida limited liability company, which provides MAW. In these terms, "MAW", "we" and "us" mean Turner Technologies LLC, and "you" means the person or organization using MAW. Please read them; they are written to be read.
1. What these terms cover
These terms cover maw.gg, the MAW Live venue software, play.maw.gg, coach.maw.gg and every other MAW service (together, "MAW"). The Privacy Policy, the Refund and Dispute Policy and the Cancellation Policy are part of these terms.
A facility, organization or event organizer may also sign an order form or agreement with us. Where that agreement and these terms differ, the signed agreement wins for that customer.
We follow the law everywhere we operate. Nothing in these terms takes away a right the law gives you; where a term here would, the law wins.
2. Who can use MAW
- Accounts are for people 13 and over. MAW is not for children under 13. If we learn an account belongs to a child under 13, we freeze it and delete it.
- Paid plans are for adults 18 and over. That includes PRO, Pro Plus, the PRO trial, Studio, coach reviews, and set-up. An account belonging to someone under 18 is a Free account and cannot buy anything.
- If you use MAW for an organization, you confirm you may accept these terms for it.
- MAW is offered in the United States only. You may not use MAW where United States law forbids it, or if you are on a United States government list of restricted parties.
3. Your account
Give us accurate details and keep them up to date. Keep your password to yourself; MAW requires passwords of 15 characters or more. You are responsible for what happens in your account. Tell us at support@maw.gg right away if you think someone else has used it.
A facility's admin decides who has an account on its MAW Live and which role each person has: admin, operator, viewer or referee. A Studio has three sign-ins.
4. Plans, billing and renewal
- Prices. Plans and prices are on Pricing, in US dollars. Applicable sales tax is calculated at checkout and added to the price.
- Payments. Payments are processed by Stripe. MAW never sees or stores your full card number. Charges appear on your card statement as MAW.GG.
- Automatic renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period, monthly or yearly, at the price then in effect, until you cancel.
- Reminders before every charge. We remind you by email and in your account or facility portal, with the date, the amount and a link to cancel or change: 30 days and 7 days before an annual plan renews, so the first reminder always comes 30 to 60 days ahead, as Florida law requires; 7 days and 1 day before a free trial's first charge; and 3 days before each monthly charge.
- Trials. The PRO trial lasts 30 days and needs a card. If you do not cancel before the trial ends, your plan starts and your card is charged. One trial per person.
- Price changes. We tell you at least 60 days before a new price applies to you, with reminders 30, 15 and 7 days before. A new price never applies to a period you have already paid for. If you do not want to pay it, cancel before it applies.
- Failed payments. If a payment fails, we retry it for 7 days and your access continues meanwhile. During those days we send reminders and MAW shows a clear banner. If the payment is still not made after 7 days, the license is suspended and MAW stops working entirely. Footage on your own PC stays on it. Paying restores the license at once. A player returns to Free.
- Storage. A facility or Studio has no cloud storage allowance and buys no storage: footage uploads only when a player is tagged on it, and each upload counts in full against the storage allowance of every player tagged on it. A player's plan has its own allowance. When a player's allowance is used, a new clip waits on the venue's PC and uploads when the allowance renews, space is freed or the player upgrades, while the venue still has the clip. We never bill for storage after the fact. Players cannot buy extra storage.
- What a court includes. Every court includes 2 inputs on Replay and on Broadcast. Each Broadcast court also includes 2 live pictures; a live picture is one scene sent out live, to any number of TVs and stream destinations. The inputs and live pictures of all the courts you buy form one pool for your venue, used on any scenes you choose. An input is any source switched on: a camera, a screen capture or any other source, whether it is live or recording. Each further input is billed per input a month at the extra-input price on Pricing; you can also add another court. Up to 100 scenes can be used on each PC running MAW Live. Replay plans have no TV or display output; court TVs, displays and streams are part of Broadcast.
- Set-up. Set-up is optional on every plan: you may set MAW up yourself with our free guides, use a third party, or buy set-up from us. Ours is remote by default; a visit on site is quoted separately, with travel at cost.
- Several licenses. A facility may hold several licenses, on one bill. Its venue minimum is met by all its licenses together, once, not once per license.
- What you are buying. You are buying MAW as it is when you buy it. Your purchase does not depend on any future feature, including anything marked Roadmap or Vision on maw.gg.
- Venue bill credit. A facility earns a credit of 30% of PRO and Pro Plus subscriptions sold with its code, for each subscriber's first 12 months. A code counts only when the player enters it at their first paid subscription. A player who cancels and subscribes again never earns a facility credit, even with a code; that revenue is MAW's. On a monthly plan, credit comes off the next monthly bill; the bill never goes below $25 a month after credits, and credit above that lapses each month and does not carry over. On an annual plan, credit builds up each month and comes off the facility's next invoice, such as a pack, set-up or the renewal; a renewal never goes below $300 after credits. Credit is never paid out as cash, a refunded subscription earns no credit, and Studio plans do not earn credit.
5. The founding facility offer
- Who. The first three facilities to sign with MAW, on any plan.
- What. Set-up by MAW, free.
- The commitment. A founding facility signs for 12 months, whether it pays monthly or yearly.
- Leaving early. If a founding facility ends its plan before 12 months, it chooses one: pay the remaining months of the 12, or repay the full set-up fee it was given.
- The offer ends when three facilities have taken it.
6. Refunds and cancellation
Refunds are covered by the Refund and Dispute Policy and cancellation by the Cancellation Policy. Both are part of these terms. You can cancel every plan online or by email, and we never hide how.
7. Facilities and Studio courts
If you run MAW Live at a facility or on a Studio court, you agree that:
- You have the right to install cameras, record and stream at your premises, and you are responsible for your own PC, cameras, displays and network.
- You post clear notice that courts are recorded and streamed, and you obtain any consents the law requires, including from parents or guardians of minors.
- You place no camera or microphone where people expect privacy, such as restrooms and changing rooms.
- You keep a list of sessions that must not be streamed, such as junior programs, and you honor it.
- You control who can view your streams and where they go. Where you stream to YouTube or to another service, including through a restream service, you follow that service's rules, including marking streams made for children and turning off live chat for streams that include players under 16.
- Sound. Uploads leave MAW Live silent until your admin turns sound on in Settings. Before you turn it on, you must post clear signs at the courts saying sound is recorded. Recording people's conversations without that notice can break state and federal wiretapping and eavesdropping laws, which carry criminal and civil penalties. MAW warns you of this when you turn sound on and records who turned it on and when.
- Uploads. Nothing uploads to MAW's cloud unless a player is tagged on it. A tagged clip uploads unless you switch clip uploads off. Recordings and takes upload only if you turn that on for them.
- When we tell you about a valid removal request, you remove the video from your streams and channels within 48 hours.
- On your own PC, you set how long footage stays there. By default MAW Live removes clips, recordings and imports 30 days after they were made, and takes after 48 hours.
8. Video and content
- The facility owns its footage. Video recorded by MAW Live at a facility belongs to that facility, whether it stays on the facility's PC or is uploaded to MAW's cloud.
- How long clips stay in MAW's cloud. 60 days from upload, except that a Pro Plus subscriber's clips are kept 12 months from upload and then deleted, within 400 GB; we remind you 7 days before a clip is deleted, so you can download it first. If your storage is full, new clips still arrive, and we warn you that your oldest clips will be removed after 7 days unless you free up space. If you move from Pro Plus to PRO or Free, clips older than 60 days stay for 60 more days from the change, and we email you when you change and 7 days before any are removed.
- Players are licensed. When a player requests a recording at a MAW facility, the player receives a license to keep, watch, download and share their own clips for personal use.
- Your uploads stay yours. Video you upload to MAW yourself remains yours.
- MAW's service license. You give MAW a license to host, store, copy, process, stream, display and analyze footage and uploads only to provide MAW to you and the people you choose, to keep it secure, and to support you. This license ends when the footage is deleted, except for copies the law requires us to keep.
- Other people. Do not upload, share or tag a recording of anyone unless you have the right to.
9. AI
- Training. MAW trains its AI models on MAW's own footage and on footage from facilities that sign MAW's data agreement. MAW uses no player's clips without that player's opt-in, and no opt-in is offered today. Teens are excluded entirely.
- AI features are not available yet. They are on our roadmap. The AI add-ons and the AI in the event license are sold only from release, with their measured accuracy published.
- Advisory only. AI officiating, line calls and statistics are advisory and can be wrong. They never decide a match on their own. MAW is not responsible for match outcomes, tournament results or wagers.
- MAW does not use facial recognition or create faceprints.
10. Accounts for people under 18
If you are 13 to 17, you may use a Free account. You cannot buy anything on MAW, you see no ads, and you cannot publish clips on MAW; you can download your own clips and share them yourself. A Studio or a facility can send clips and recordings to your account, as for any player. You agree to the conduct rules in these terms. You may ask us at any time to delete your account and your data, and we will.
11. Acceptable use
Do not use MAW to:
- record anyone unlawfully, or upload or share an intimate image of anyone without their consent;
- harass, threaten or exploit anyone, or upload anything sexual involving a minor;
- resell, rebroadcast or republish streams or clips without the facility's permission;
- copy, decompile, reverse engineer or modify MAW software, except where the law allows it despite this term;
- get around plan limits, license checks, sign-in or security controls, or probe, scan or overload our systems;
- scrape MAW, or use it to build a competing product.
We report apparent child sexual abuse material to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children as the law requires.
12. Removal requests
Anyone can ask us to remove an intimate image shared without consent under the TAKE IT DOWN Act, and a parent or guardian can ask us to remove video of their child, by email to safety@maw.gg. How to ask, and how fast we act, is on Removal requests.
13. Coaches
- Coaches are approved by MAW through a recognized certification or an interview, are 18 or over, and verify their identity and age with us.
- Coaches work with adult players. Coaching players under 18 through MAW is not offered.
- A coach sets an hourly rate and a minimum of at least $15. A review costs the rate times the length of the video reviewed, or the minimum if higher. Coaches pay no subscription and no listing fee; MAW keeps 10% of each paid review.
- Booking. The player chooses or uploads the video first. Booking places a hold on the player's card. The coach has 24 hours to accept; if the coach does not, the hold is released and nothing is charged. The card is charged when the coach accepts.
- The deadline. Each coach sets a turnaround, at most 14 days, counted from acceptance. A review not delivered by the deadline is refunded to the player in full and is not paid to the coach.
- Refunds. A delivered review is refunded only for a real problem, such as the wrong video reviewed or a blank or unusable review, as MAW support decides. If a review is refunded or disputed after the coach has been paid, we take it back from the coach's next payout, and the coach repays it if no payout follows.
- Payouts. The coach's share is credited when the review is delivered. MAW pays coaches through Stripe once a month, in a batch, when a coach's balance reaches $50; a smaller balance carries to the next month, and a coach who stops coaching is paid any balance. A coach gives Stripe their tax details before the first payout.
14. Changes, beta features and availability
We improve MAW and may change or retire features. If a change takes away something material from a paid plan, we tell you first, and you may cancel. Features marked beta may change or be removed. We work to keep MAW running but do not promise any level of availability unless a signed agreement says so. On your own PC, MAW Live keeps replaying and recording when the internet drops, and checks its license online every few days.
15. Suspension and termination
You may stop using MAW and cancel at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you do not pay, if you break these terms, or if we must by law. We may pause an account while a chargeback on it is open. Where it is reasonable, we tell you first and give you a chance to fix the problem. Data and video are deleted only when an account closes or a facility's license ends: we then keep them for 30 days so they can be downloaded, and then delete them. Cancelling PRO or Pro Plus only returns a player to Free.
16. Disclaimers
MAW is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties not stated in these terms, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not promise that MAW will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that every frame or recording will be captured.
17. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, neither you nor we are liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue or data. Our total liability for any claim about MAW is limited to the amount you paid MAW in the 12 months before the claim arose. These limits do not apply where the law does not allow them to.
18. Indemnity
If you use MAW for a business, including a facility, you will defend and indemnify Turner Technologies LLC against third-party claims arising from your recording, streaming or content, your premises, or your breach of these terms.
19. Governing law and disputes
Florida law governs these terms, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be decided by the state or federal courts located in Duval County, Florida, and you and we agree to their jurisdiction. There is no arbitration. Before going to court, please email support@maw.gg so we can try to resolve it.
20. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version. If a change is material, we tell you by email or in MAW before it takes effect. If you keep using MAW after it takes effect, the new terms apply; if you do not agree, cancel.
21. Contact
