Add an output
In "Outputs", choose "+ Add", then "Add Manually" (or "Scan for Outputs" to find monitors). The types:
- "Record to Disk": a recording of the scene, written so that a crash or a power cut cannot ruin it. It plays up to the moment the power went. Recordings go to Clips, Recordings by default.
- "RTMP Stream" (Broadcast): the "Server" address and the "Stream key" from YouTube, or from the restream service you use to reach other platforms. With RTMPS the server's certificate is checked before your key is sent.
- "SRT Stream" (Broadcast): for a custom streaming address, the receiver's "Address", and its "Passphrase" and "Stream ID" if it uses them.
- "Display Output" (Broadcast): the scene full screen on a monitor connected to the PC; pick it from the "Monitor" list.
"Picture size" is 1080p by default, or 720p, or the camera's own. A picture of another shape gets black bars; it is never stretched.
Stream keys
Stream keys and passphrases are hidden as you type ("Show" reveals them) and are never shown again once saved. If you paste a full address with the key on the end, MAW Live moves the key into its own field.
Start, stop and change an output
- Turn an output on and off with its switch. There is no separate start button.
- An RTMP stream reconnects by itself if the connection drops.
- "Edit" replaces the output with your new settings, so it stops: switch it on again when you are ready. A saved stream key is kept as long as the server address stays the same.
The court display on your own PC
- Connect the TV or monitor to the PC, and set it to "Extend" in Windows display settings.
- Add a "Display Output" for the court's scene and pick that monitor.
- Switch it on. The card shows "On screen", or "No signal" if the screen is not reachable.
Each Broadcast court adds 2 live pictures. A live picture is one scene sent out live, to any number of TVs and streams, so 2 Broadcast courts can show any 4 scenes at once; more live pictures can be added. Someone must be signed in to Windows on the PC for the display to draw. If the display ever stops drawing, MAW Live restarts it by itself.
