Add a camera
In "Inputs", choose "+ Add":
- "Scan for Inputs" finds the USB cameras plugged into the PC. Tick the ones you want and choose "Add Selected".
- "Add Manually" for anything else: "USB / Integrated Camera", "RTSP -- IP/network camera" (enter its address, such as
rtsp://user:password@192.0.2.10/stream; your camera's manual gives the path), or "Media File / Saved Clip". - "Add Existing Input" puts a camera you already added into another scene.
Each court includes 2 inputs. An input is any source switched on: a camera, a screen capture, a media file or any other source, whether it is live or recording. The inputs of all your courts form one pool for your venue, used on any scene. To use more, add the extra-input add-on or add another court; see Pricing.
Live and Replay on each camera
Each camera card has two buttons, and a new camera starts with both off.
- "Replay" keeps that camera's rolling replay. A camera with Replay off has nothing to rewind, so turn it on for every camera you will review.
- "Live" puts the camera in the current scene's picture.
When a camera has a microphone, its sound is recorded with its video, on one clock. The "Audio" tab sets each source's volume, mute and delay, with meters and a five-band equalizer.
Build one scene per court
- Choose "New Scene" in the scene strip.
- Use the scene's three-dot menu to "Rename" it after the court, "Duplicate" it as a starting point for the next court, or "Delete" it.
- Add the court's cameras and pick a layout: "Single", "Side-by-Side", "PiP" (picture in picture) or "Grid" (up to four inputs, two by two). Side-by-Side and Grid need at least two inputs. Each court you buy adds two inputs to your venue, for any scene; more come with the extra-input add-on. Drag the PiP inset where you want it in the "Overlays" tab.
You can use up to 100 scenes on each PC running MAW Live, on every plan. Scenes, cameras, outputs and overlays all come back by themselves after a restart. Clips are always saved per camera, never as the composite picture; to record the composite, use a recording output (see Streaming and the court display).
Change a scene without touching the live one
The "Live Mode / Draft Mode" switch lets you change a scene while the live scene keeps running. Work in "Draft Mode", then choose "Publish" (or press Ctrl+Enter) to put your changes live in one step.
Watch several courts at once
The grid button in the scene strip opens the multi-scene view: up to eight scenes on one screen, laid out as 1, 2, 2 by 2, 3 by 2 or 4 by 2. Press Ctrl and a number from 1 to 9 to jump to a scene.
